Murat Palta
Murat Palta reinterprets Ottoman miniature art through a contemporary lens, blending traditional techniques with modern and pop-cultural references. He introduces intentional anachronisms that reveal cultural overlaps, tensions, and shared narratives between Eastern and Western worlds.
His compositions layer illustration, text, and collage, echoing the narrative complexity of historical manuscripts. He works across traditional and digital processes, using materials such as gouache, gold, and acrylic alongside digitally assembled drawings and textures. These elements are produced individually and brought together into richly detailed works that bridge historical techniques and contemporary approaches.
